Paper Wedding Gowns – Taiwanese Festival 2009
First off I want to apologize for not keeping this notebook up to date. Life have been a little busy as of late. Anyways, I’ve got some interesting handmade invitations that I can’t wait to share but first, this post is about some very cool wedding gowns I saw at this year’s TaiwanFest in Vancouver. They have a theme for wedding where they showcased designs of wedding gowns from the 1960’s to 2009 as well as a special cooking stage where they had invited chefs of several restaurant to demonstrate dishes from a Chinese banquet. Unfortunately I wasn’t about to catch any of the cooking show but I did managed to find an exhibition where they had wedding gowns made out of paper.

Here are some of my favourites:

I like the colour of this one. Not too thrilled about the little feather like things. It looks more like an evening gown than a wedding gown though.

I like this one the most. It’s amazing that all of these are made with paper. They actually look more like cloth than paper but if you look closely you can see the paper’s pores and grains. Which one do you like? I’d definitely wear some of these if they were real wedding gowns.
